L'Avenir wine of origin Stellenbosch. That says it all. Stellenbosch is the heart of wine country in South Africa. L'Avenir is one of the new breed of small wine estates dedicated to the growing and production of fine wines.
After having spent 13 years renovating and developing L'Avenir and making sure that each harvest, thanks to Francois Naudé's passion, resulted in the high-quality multi-award winning wines that is L'Avenir's trademark, Marc Wiehe has decided to step down.
On 1 September, keeping L'Avenir's best interest in mind, he passed ownership on to Michel Laroche. The Laroche name has been synonymous with top quality wines from Chablis for over 150 years, from the South of France for the past 20 years and from Chile since 2001. Michel's intention is to carry on with the quality policy run by L'Avenir and accepts the exhilarating challenge of extending The Laroche Range to include prestigious South African wines.
Tinus Els, is the new appointed CEO / winemaker. Tinus is from South Africa. He studied Viticulture and Oenology at Stellenbosch, has 12 years of winemaking experience in both hemispheres and his mission is to produce the best wine possible at L'Avenir.
