In less than 5 years the Feichtenschlagers of Klawervlei Wine Estate near Stellenbosch have established themselves as quality producers.

Their 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded four stars out of five in Decanter magazine during a tasting of South African Cabernet Sauvignons.

Comments from the tasting read: "Pure Cabernet from South Africa is often disappointing with an unappealing greenness, but the vibrant, lightly oaked 1996 from the Klawervlei winery is a winner". Another wine from Klawervlei, the 1995 Pinotage, received a silver medal at the International Wine Challenge recently held in London.
