Oude Libertas is in the heart of the Stellenbosch Winelands, situated on the slopes of the Pappagaaiberg, and overlooks the magnificent Stellenbosch mountain range.
Come and experience three centuries of Cape Hospitality under the ancient oak trees with awesome views that stretch over the surrounding mountains and vineyards.
Every Saturday morning we host the Oude Libertas Organic Farmers Market where truly organic suppliers and shoppers get together in a laid back atmosphere to do their trading and often share lazy breakfasts while they are here.
Our facilities include an Amphitheatre, Restaurant, Wine Centre and Conference and Event facilities.
In addition we have a 250 seat indoor restaurant/theatre for which we have planned a programme of classical and contemporary music. This venue is most often used for weddings and corporate events. Our in-house team can be briefed to turn your event into one which you and your guest will remember long afterwards.
We invite you to join us "downstairs" in our vaulted cellar wine shop and tasting room showcasing a carefully chosen and varied selection of South African wines and brandies.
Enjoy our "wine tasting of the day" either in the cool comfort of an intimate booth in the air conditioned cellar or alternatively select a table outdoors in our shady patio area adjacent to the vineyards and overlooking the majestic Stellenbosch mountains.
We offer a choice of daily wine tasting menus, each consisting of five wines and in addition our tempting deli counter offers a mouth-watering selection of cheese platters and pates to compliment your wine tasting experience. The deli also features a range of South African produce such as olive oil, spices and many other interesting goodies - ideal either to enjoy yourself or select as gifts.
Being in the heart of the wine lands, Oude Libertas couldn't be better placed for hosting conferences and meetings. With a wide variety of things to do around us, top quality accommodation, Cape Town on our doorstep and the sea and the mountains our neighbours, what more could anybody ask for?
