AMANI is situated in the Stellenbosch wine lands of South Africa, the largest wine producing region in the continent. The modern winery of AMANI is on one of the hills in the Stellenbosch Winelands.
The area's long, hot sunny days and cooler clear nights allow vineyards to produce grapes full of complex flavors and aromas.
Meticulous attention to pruning insures that each vine produces fewer grapes with correspondingly greater varietal character. Every aspect of the vineyard operation, in fact, is carefully managed from planting to harvest (by carefully removing and sorting all unwanted grapes by hand before it goes through the winemaking process) to encourage flavor intensity.
Few places have such breathtaking views including both the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. From AMANI, The Cape of Good Hope, Stellenbosch and the Helderberg mountain ranges are seen. The Southwesterly, Eastern and Southeasterly breezes caress the Southern and Eastern slopes of the hill bringing a cooler clime and greater moisture to our vines.
Wine is about where, when and with what ... It is about walking a road with plants being little seedlings to fully grown fruit producing vines. The creative touch of the winemaker turns these grapes into products of pleasure for the pallet.
AMANI wines are served in restaurants and homes from the locals in South Africa to the furthest corners of the USA and Europe.
The elegant range of Amani wines has proved to be a show-stopping, award-winning line-up. Amani debuted its range with their 1997 maiden harvest. This first vintage earned Veritas gold awards for the Sauvignon Blanc and Blanc Fume, the only wine in its varietal category to be awarded a Veritas double gold. It was also selected for the Blue train wine list. Amani's exceptional wines helped open new export markets in Canada, USA, Germany and England.
