Cape Rainbow Tours

See beautiful Cape Town guided by Cape Rainbow Tours. They will take you anywhere your heart desires, from a trip around the centre of Cape Town to the top of Table Mountain, down South to Cape Point in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, a visit to Robben island and even a township tour.

See and experience the resonance of Clifton Beaches Hout Bay & Mariners' Wharf Boat ride to view seals (optional), Chapman's Peak Drive/Ou Kaapse Weg, Cape Point Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Penguin colony at the Boulders Historic Simon's Town, Groot Constantia Wine Estate or Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

For a truly original experience, the tour allows you to experience another facet of Cape Town that relatively few tourists ever see. This intimate interactive tour will expose you to some of Cape Town's multi-cultural life - see how our spirit of Kanalah, Ubunthu and reconciliation is being played out by Capetonians. This is a positive and interactive tour, which will afford the visitor the opportunity to meet and speak to the local people.

On arrival, tourists often discover that they did not understand the extent to which previous race classification laws fragmented our society. Many people who the visitor originally assumed were defined as Black were in fact classified as Coloured or Indian and did not live in the townships, but in other designated areas. Visitors are taken into the Townships, but to preserve the integrity of this is also by introducing them to the traditional Malay quarter known as Bo-Kaap, as well as Athlone, Rylands and District 6. These areas were defined as Coloured areas with Rylands having being defined as an Indian area.

Following your visit to the Townships you will depart by ferry for Robben Island. The most famous, or infamous, for having been the isolated prison of former South African President Nelson Mandela and many other political dissidents. Former political prisoners who had been detained on the Island will act as your guides.

Another exciting tour to bring you close to nature is Aquila Private Game Reserve. This is the newest Reserve around - less than 2 hours drive from Cape Town! After enjoying hearty breakfast there will be a 2-3 hour game drive in an open 4x4 vehicle with an experienced Ranger through the bio-diverse habitat of animals such as lion, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, rhino, ostrich, baboon, warthog, springbok, blesbok, black & blue wildebeest, and many other species of wild animals. During your game-drive you will also be able to view some of the world-famous San rock-paintings. 172 species of bird-life have been recorded in the Reserve.

Travel further afield, through the spectacular mountain scenery and lush fertile valleys of the Cape. Taste a mixture of fascinating history and allow yourself to indulge in the pleasures of the renowned Cape Winelands. There is a set criteria for selection of three wine estates for you to see the high standards of winemaking, historical and architectural significance, picturesque environment and visitor friendliness.

Alternatively, venture on a day trip to the sweeping fields of flowers in the West Coast (early Spring only) or to the seaside town of Hermanus, home of the Southern Right Whale.

Observe the whales a few metres off shore from the world's most exciting whale-watch venue. For a truly adventurous day tour of Cape Town and beyond "The Whale Route Tour" takes you to the quaint seaside village of Hermanus on the southern coast of Africa close to the latitude where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans converge. Experience the feel of the emergence of land, sea and the Rainbow culture of the Western Cape. Bond with the whales from the most exciting land based whale-watching venue in the World! Each year Southern Right Whales, among other species, migrate into the coastal waters to calve and nurse their young. These mammals, mere metres from the shore, provide an unsurpassed whale watching opportunity between August and November.
