Somerset West Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the area. The origins of the Club date back to 1903, when a piece of railway line drawn by 4 oxen, cleared enough bush and mole-runs to allow for a 9 hole 'course' which eventually gloried in the name of Paarde Vlei Golf Club.
Today Somerset West is essentially a Parkland golf course of 5942 meters in length with 18 Holes - Par: 72, and in three different parts, but in no way does that change it's feeling or style.
As you play take time to look at the magnificent Helderberg mountain that gently slopes down to the course and look out for the White Squirrel's that live around the first nine holes.
Somerset West has the true feeling of a Country Club and the 19th Hole will remind you of the importance of good company.
