Tucked between the world famous Boulders Penguin Reserve and the picturesque Fisherman's Beach lies the historic Simon's Town Country Club.
The unique 9-hole golf links is situated where a century ago, Boer War P.O.W's awaited shipment from the naval base to Ceylon. At the second Tee there is a plaque, which not only states that the site was a Prisoner of war camp, but also demarcates the spot where the prisoners collected their post.

Course overview
There are two sets of Tee Markers, yellow for the front (first) nine holes and blue for the back (second) nine holes. This interesting little course offers some great challenges with the most spectacular views. When playing a game especially during the months of September and October players can often witness whales frolicking in the bay close by and during the rest of the year Jackass Penguins often roam around the course watching us humans trying to hit a little white ball into a hole.
Holes 1 and 10
Par: 3
Distance: 158m/144m
A steep incline greets the golfer here for a challenging par 3 which
rises about 25m above the T box.
Holes 2 and 11
Par: 4
Distance: 239m/220m
This Par 4 is flanked by the 8th and 9th fairway to the right and
leaves some room for errant drives. The green is situated in front of
a bank that seems to fall away into the ocean, beware not to overshoot
here.
Holes 3 and 12
Par: 4
Distance: 261m/255m
Although the fairway is shared, there are different greens for these two holes. The fairway slopes from left to right. Room for error is allowed to the left with out of bounds to the right; a sliced tee shot will most certainly end in the rough and could end up out of bounds.
Holes 4 and 13
Par: 3
Distance: 175m/168m
On this par 3 golfers tee off from an elevated teeing ground and
although it looks shorter than indicated, one would be wise to trust the yardage on the score card. Heavy rough awaits an errant shot to the right and a greenside bunker guards the green on the left.
Holes 5 and 14
Par: 4
Distance: 256m/257m
A drivable par 4 awaits. The ocean is literally but a stone's throw
away and from August - October Southern Right whales can be seen frolicking in the calm waters. This is a driveable par 4 for the long hitter with out of bounds to the right and 2 bunkers guarding the green.
Holes 6 and 15
Par: 4
Distance: 303m/285m
Although driveable for the long hitter on a calm day, it can turn into a little monster when the South Easter blows. Lots of undulations to the fairway add extra spice to the hole.
Holes 7 and 16
Par: 3
Distance: 105m/100m
A short par 3 awaits and really invites one to equal par or better.
There is out of bounds to the left and a severe slope to the right.
The green side bunkers back left and right awaits errant shots.
Holes 8 and 17
Par: 4
Distance: 261m/247m
Here one is greeted with a narrow fairway par 4 with out of bounds left and trees to the right. The fairway slopes from left to right.
Holes 9 and 18
Par: 4
Distance: 297m/281m
Homeward bound. This narrow, yet drivable par 4, slopes from right to left. The hole entices the longer hitter to go for the green in one, but beware here there is trouble closer to the green where an errant shot may roll off the embankment into the trees to the left. A green side bunker to the right is shared between the 9th and 7th green.
