Durbanville Golf Club, founded in 1971, with very little grass on clay soil, a gravel car-park and no clubhouse. Today the golf course of Durbanville is a very well maintained beautiful park landscape, protected from the wind, with picturesque mountains in the background and pleasant to play on.
The course and the Club had been conceived by local amateur enthusiasts and approved by the community at a meeting at the Town Hall. The original layout was designed by Ken Elkin.
There are no steep hills to climb, nor thick jungle to swallow your golf ball. Here you will find open space with beautiful fairways, bent grass greens, and in immaculate condition. All in all a wonderful setting for a game of golf with a view across the course to the distant mountains from the lounge bar, where you may enjoy your drink after the game.
All visitors are welcome, the club has a reputation as one of the friendliest clubs around. With a well stocked pro-shop, a halfway house and catering facilities that offer freshly prepared snack-style food under thatched gazebos, Durbanville golf Club offers you the best in sport and entertainment.
