Are you an avid fisherman or just a tourist wanting to see seal island and mountains from the water, then Drumbeat charters have something to suit you!
This special cruise to visit seals and shipwrecks departs daily (weather dependant) from Hout Bay Harbour, with its magnificent views of Sentinel Mountain and Chapman's Peak, to the island to view the Cape Fur seals, close up, in their natural habitat.
The island is a sanctuary for thousands of Cape Fur seals as well as a variety of seabirds including Cormorants and Gulls. It is illegal to land on the island, but the trip takes you within arm's reach of the seals who seem to know they're the centre of attention. These actors put on a fantastic performance, diving and twisting with amazing speed and agility.
The charter gets you so close to the seals you can almost touch them and also has underwater viewing, a licensed bar, toilets, and windbreaker jackets for use.
This fun outing is particularly popular with children.
The trip back provides beautiful views of Hout Bay set at the foot of the steeply sloped Sentinel Mountain.
