Barron Charters

The luxurious 25 metre, 78 ton motor yacht, Princess Emma, has been permanently moored at the Cape Town Waterfront from Monday, 26 May 2008, and is available for charter around the Cape Peninsula and the South African coastline.

Built by Princess Yachts in the United Kingdom and previously moored at Antibes in the South of France, Princess Emma was shipped across on the cargo ship Black Rhino.

The R35 million luxury high speed cruiser is powered by two 2000 hp engines and can reach a maximum speed of 34 knots with a cruising speed of 27 knots, and is equipped with the latest navigation and safety equipment. The fully air-conditioned interior features rosewood panelling and tasteful fabrics throughout the salon and four luxurious and spacious cabins in uncompromising comfort, each having its own bathroom.

There is a spacious aft deck for alfresco dining, and a swimming platform allowing easy access to the water for the watersport toys on board which include a 4m tender boat and Seadoo jet skis. The entertainment areas include a large covered flybridge with bar and dining area.

It is manned by a fully qualified skipper, an operations manager and crew including a private chef, all on standby to provide a highly personalised and memorable experience.

Charter options begin with day charters to local places such as Hout Bay for lunch, Clifton for sun downers and Kraal Bay for a dip in the warm waters of the Langebaan lagoon and extend to longer voyages along the south coast to Kynsna or even the Indian Ocean islands.

Peter Bacon, former CEO of Sun International and a director of the charter company, said Princess Emma is the largest and most prestigious luxury motor yacht available for charter in South Africa and we are proud to have this vessel in our portfolio to enhance the appeal of this truly amazing destination.

A typical day trip could be a visit to Seal Island, maybe lunch in Hout Bay, followed by a swim at Clifton, and dinner while anchored in Granger Bay. A beautiful day on the water.

We will do well over the 2010 period, we can move the boat around the coast, tailor-make the charter according to the guests. Perhaps the guests are going to Port Elizabeth to watch a soccer match and will then sail to Knysna and visit Plett.
