Welbedacht offers an idyllic country retreat, just over an hour's drive from Cape Town. Our cottages offer complete privacy in a tranquil environment, and are tucked away amongst pine trees, fynbos and orchards. All cottages are equipped for self-catering, with shady verandas, private plunge pools, log fireplaces and braais. All linen, towels and firewood provided!

Enjoy walking, game viewing, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching or swimming in one of the dams; feast your eyes on the spectacular, uniterrupted views of the Tulbagh Valley and surrounding mountains from eacxh cottage; explore nearby Tulbagh with its excellent restaurants and renowned wine route. Welbedacht Nature Reserve Tulbagh Western Cape
DIRECTIONS: From Cape Town, take the N1, exit 47 (Klapmuts Turn-off) to Wellington.
Turn left onto the R44 just before Wellington.
Once on the R44, you will pass through the Nuwe Kloof Pass. 2 km after the pass, turn left towards Tulbagh.
At the T-junction in Tulbagh, turn left and follow the main road through Tulbagh town.
Continue straight through the town, straight at the 4-way stop and drive for approximately 9kms (passing the Tulbagh & Drostdy-Hof Wine cellars as well as Theuniskraal). You will see stables on the left and right hand side on a farm called 'Vrolikheid' - look out for our white "Welbedacht" sign on your left hand side - this is the turn off to Welbedacht. Follow this graded road for about 1.5km, crossing the small low-water bridge. The turn-off to Welbedacht is about 800 metres after this bridge. There are various signs near and at the entrance that say 'Welbedacht'.
