Steenberg Hotel & Winery is situated on the Cape's oldest wine farm, a mere twenty-minute drive from the bustling heart of Cape Town. The hotel nestles in the tranquil Constantia Valley, against the slopes of the Steenberg Mountain, offering sweeping views over False Bay.
The hotel buildings, date back to 1682, were painstakingly restored and have been declared a National Monument. Here the legendary elegance and traditions of the 17th century blend harmoniously with the most refined luxuries and conveniences of our modern age.
The estate boasts it's own world renowned, working winery, which produces a selection of award winning fine wines. Guided tours and wine tasting are available on request. For the keen golfer, an 18 hole, championship golf course also forms part of this prestigious estate.(see golf above). The original winery dating back to the 1700's provides the setting for Catharina's award wining Restaurant.
Guests have a choice of 30 elegant en-suite, air-conditioned rooms located in the original Manor House, Jonker's Huis, Barn, Swaaneweide and Spurwing Houses. Each room is tastefully furnished with exquisite antiques and all rooms overlook the golf course, vineyards or manicured gardens.
