Tokai is located 30 minutes drive from the City at the foothills of the Constantiaberg Mountains ,with the natural boundaries of the Tokai Forests, and the Uitsig Wine Farms, the Tokai area has much to offer residents with its natural beauty. Tokai offers the choice of two superb golf courses Steenberg and Westlake(see above). Steenberg Estate is the oldest farm in the Cape Peninsula. The land was originally granted to a young widow, Catharina Ras, in 1682, by Simon van der Stel, and wines were first produced in 1695. Both Steenburg and Uitsig have several award winning restaurants. This leafy suburb offers superb accommodation in the way of bed & breakfast and guest houses.
