Papyrus Lodge offers style, luxury and tranquility. A true little paradise. In the heart of the Cape winelands, set on 12 hectares private land, with its own fresh water lake and parklike gardens. A treat for soul, mind and body, offering guests a get-away experience like no other. Sweeping views, the sound of gently waving palm trees, warm evenings and African sunsets are just part of the natural splendor.
The stylish and romantic wooden chalets are built on stilts over the water. Only connected with a small bridge to the land you find yourself in your own private little world. Here you can unwind and relax on your own big sundeck. Each chalet sleeps 2. The 1 roomed studio type chalet has a small open plan kitchenette; chalets and bathrooms are completely renovated with exclusive appliances, air conditioning and underfloor heating.
The Cape colonial style Main Lodge houses 4 exclusively renovated superior Suites . Beautifully decorated and luxuriously furnished spacious units, each with own entrances and big covered verandas leading into the garden. Comfortable cane chairs invite you to sit and enjoy the sweeping views over the lake and towards Table Mountain. 5 star style suites, with 2 rooms and a small open plan kitchenette. Sleeps 2. Some family suites are also available.
Breakfast is served on the garden terrace overlooking the garden and the lake or in the sunny breakfast room. Wake up to a mouth-watering selection of home-made breads, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold meats, or hot breakfast foods.
Cool down in our delightful fresh-water lake or have a go at fishing, row out onto the water or enjoy a ride on a pedal boat.
Rowing boats and a pedal boat as well as the fishing are free for our guests. For the birdwatchers, there is a wonderful and immense variety of different birds to be spotted on and around the lake.
Table Mountain and the city of Cape Town is only 30 minutes away, with CTI Airport being only 20 minutes away and is situated in the picturesque winearea between Somerset West and the historic town of Stellenbosch.
