Sonnekus Guest House, gracious old lady of a bygone era, circa 1926, is nestled at the base of the mountains in St. James, with the waters of False Bay lapping at her feet. The Sonnekus Guest House has been lovingly restored to her former glory. Less than an hour away from the airport and the city. The V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain are just at a short leisurely drive away.
Accommodations at Sonnekus Guests House offer absolute comfort and luxury. Our 5 Luxurious en-suite bedrooms (3 with fireplaces) with tea and coffee making facilities are unmatched in luxury. So are our buffet breakfasts.
The Garden Room has lovely views of the ocean and the garden. It has a fireplace, perfect for the winter, and is wheelchair-friendly.
The Family Suite offers a huge space and has a fireplace and sitting area. Wonderful views of the sunrise and False Bay can be seen from this room.
The Honeymoon Suite provides the most magnificent view of False Bay, from Gordon’s Bay in the East right across to Simon’s Bay in the West.
The Sea Room has also has a view of False Bay and the sunny bathroom provides a mountain view.
The Mountain Room is a comfortable room overlooking the Kalk Bay Mountain.
Each suite features individual decorations and provides maximum comfort and luxury. The bathrooms have varying features from bath and showers to over-corner bath shower. The rooms also have overhead fans, heaters, tea/coffee trays, telephones, alarm clock radios and televisions for ultra comfort and convenience. We also allow children by arrangement.
Sonnekus Guest House is close to numerous restaurants. For the adventurer, there are also a variety of activities to choose from. Recreational activities such surfing, whale watching (in season), mountain walks, boat fishing, diving, scenic drives and personalized land tours can be experienced. Simply hang out on the beach and enjoy sand, sea and surf.
