Mooring House Guest Lodge

Set on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain on over 4000sqm meters of property with the Helderberg Mountain as a backdrop and sea views in the foreground, Mooring House Guest Lodge offers spacious accommodation with the choice of bed & breakfast or self-catering.

Rooms have own private entrance, en-suite and private patio.All rooms have TV and some have an option for DSTV reception (Satellite) or bring your own smart card. In total the Guest House can sleep a maximum of 18 guests and rooms are serviced daily. Breakfast is either served around the pool or on your private patio and if weather is poor, brought to your room. Other on site facilities include, large garden, Garden and Pool Gazebo to relax in, Pool and on-site parking.

For Business men and women, an early breakfast for an early start is provided.

Somerset West is a 25 minute drive outside Cape Town and although tucked away from the Hustel and Bustle of the City life, it still offers all the amenities of City Living. Somerset West is right at the gateway to the wine route where numerous wine estates are situated.

Being only 20minutes from Cape Town International airport, Mooring House Guest Lodge is an excellent base for both holiday and business purposes - for business purposes it is a practicle base(close to the Lord Charles Hotel where many conferences are held) and the holiday maker has choices of touring various wine cellars and participate in elegant wine tasting feast, Golf lovers will enjoy that six golf courses are located close to the guest house namely Erinvale golf estate, Somerset West Golf Club, Strand Golf Club, Helderberg Village, De Zalze and Stellenbosch. Historical sites such as the Vergelegen Homestead is a huge attraction, the beach is just moments away and the whale coast drive up to Hermanus starts less than 10 minutes away.Daily trips or tours to the Cape Peninsula is only 30 minutes away.

Other attractions in the area include reational activities such as hiking or horseback riding or walks in the Helderberg Nature Reserve. An African dining experience can be enjoyed at Moyo's (15 minutes away) or visit the Cheetah Sanctuary within the same establishment. And if you are a lover of big cats, guests can also visit the Lion Park roughly a 40minutes drive away. The list can continue and if guests need some prompting into what to do or see, the hosts are always a available to provide some ideas for the day.
