Alphabed is a Belgian owned Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the Helderberg Region. Well situated in a tranquil residential area, shady trees adorn the surrounding streets. The town centre, with its cosy restaurants and shops, is within walking distance.
Alphabed is an ideal base for exploring the Helderberg Region, with day trips to the surrounding Winelands and coastal gems of Hermanus and Cape Town within easy reach. The charming thatched house offers two stylish guestrooms, each comprising a private bathroom and patio/ lounge which overlook the swimming pool and beautiful garden. Magnificent views of the Helderberg Mountain accompany guests when breakfast is served in the dining room or the sunny outside patio.

The friendly town of Somerset West, with its Mediterranean-like climate, has a welcoming and relaxed air. It is ideally located in the heart of the Western Cape, offering visitors to the area easy access to the vineyards of surrounding towns: Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
The world famous winery 'Vergelegen' is situated in Somerset West with white beaches, mountains, shopping malls, restaurants and golf courses also worth a visit. If you need to relax further, then the sandy beaches of Strand or Gordon's Bay, a daytrip to Hermanus (especially during whale watching season), Stanford, or Greyton is an easy alternative.
Nature lovers can enjoy hiking, mountain biking or bird watching in the local Helderberg Nature Reserve, which boasts examples of traditional Cape fynbos. Only 20 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, Somerset West is an ideal base for visiting Cape Town, The Waterfront, Hout Bay and Cape Point (to name but a few).
