Onse Rus Guesthouse

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains is the quiet and serene village of Prince Albert. Here time is suspended in the dry and crisp Karoo air. With its thatched roof and wooden floors, Onse Rus (circ 1852) has the character and comfort of an old farmhouse. You will immediately feel at home as you slow down to the relaxed pace of country life and take time to experience simple beauty.

Each of the 5 guest rooms has its own special character and quaint en-suite bathrooms. After breathing the fresh country air, you'll sleep soundly in the comfy beds with crisp cotton linen. We serve tea and the cake of the day when you arrive. In summer you might choose to sit in the gazebo, in winter the guest lounge, which doubles as an art gallery for Hannes Meintjes' evocative paintings, seems the natural place to gather.

The cool sparkling pool provides a sanctuary on hot summer days. The shady garden has braai facilities and a bar. The diningroom has a warm fireplace for winter, and our library in the guest lounge offers books to suit every taste. We accept credit cards and guests are most welcome to use our Internet and fax facilities.
