Ridgeback House and Deck Restaurant

Ridgeback House, originally the old farm house was converted into a 4 star luxurious five bed roomed Country Farm guest house in 2008. Located on a 62 hectare farm set amongst the working vineyards and home to our award winning Ridgeback wines, offers a truly luxurious experience with stylish accommodation, fine dining, attentive service and some of the best wines South Africa has to offer. The house is situated in North Agter Paarl, 40 minutes from Cape Town and within 10km of Paarl and Wellington. All our individually designed en-suite rooms are spacious, unique and stylishly decorated in neutral colours, allowing magnificent views of the koppies and vineyards and rose gardens which provide the focal point.

Each room has its own character, of which four open up onto balconies overlooking the vineyards. The fifth room is slightly smaller and looks out onto beautiful rose gardens. Each room has a small sitting area, satellite TV, private safe, air-conditioning and/or ceiling fan, tea/coffee facilities and a mini bar, all with immaculate en-suite bathrooms.Ridgeback House caters for a wide range of clients from corporate guests through to get-away seekers and nature enthusiasts. It is the perfect place to relax, lie by the pool or take a walk down to the Wine Tasting centre where you can taste a glass of our own award winning Ridgeback wines.

Ridgeback House is a family business run by Vanessa Cole. Vanessa, born in Malawi, completed her high school education in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, loved traveling and after two years of traveling around Australia, the Far East and Europe ended up in the USA where she qualified as an IATA consultant. After running her own travel company in Malawi for 5 years she succumbed to the travel bug once again and went back to Ireland where she completed a course at Ballymaloe Cookery School.
