Palmiet Valley Estate is located in Paarl, only 30 minutes from Cape Town. In this valley of wine and history, vineyards stretch out to the mountain, and behind a blaze of Jacaranda and Lavender, are the gabled walls of a magnificent restored Cape Dutch homestead, now a luxurious guest house.
The guest house is situated on a working wine estate outside Paarl, centre of the historic wine-lands area of the Cape. It is the perfect weekend escape for the city dweller and a spectacular base from which to explore the Cape.
Expect crisp cotton linen on Victorian sized beds, gleaming wood floors, original art, worn Persian rugs and crystal glasses from which to enjoy any of the Estate's exceptional range of export wines.
Decorated by the present owner, each suite is a tribute to a collector with a passion for rare finds. Every room is a treasure chest filled with novelty pieces such as an antique safe, a 1920's celebrity-owned traveling suitcase, or the antique copper kettle which makes up the tea and coffee service in the Honeymoon Suite.
Despite these historic touches, every suite is luxuriously appointed to provide every comfort, from air conditioning to DVD players to set the mood.
All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms ranging in style from Victorian to Turkish.
Petal scattered linen, fragrant bath time indulgences, fluffy white towels, oversized bathrobes, and heated mattresses for cold winter nights, are just a few of the special ways we like to make our guests feel pampered.
Experience a rich historical and cultural heritage. Visit quaint villages and vibrant townships, museums and galleries, theatres and festivals.
Palmiet Valley Estate is a great wedding venue. Picture hurricane lamps hung in trees. White linen tables strewn with hydrangea rose petals and lavender. Polished silver, cut glass, delicate crockery and champagne served on rolling green lawns. With our stunning wine-land location - celebrating your wedding at Palmiet Estate is what dreams are made of.
Many couples choose to get married in the Estate’s beautiful gardens with only the sky and the majestic mountains and vineyards as the backdrop. Alternatively, couples choose the romantic stone thatched chapel, or the Homestead’s rooftop which overlooks the Estate.
It is within easy driving distance of Cape Town, the Estate is a popular venue for brunches, luncheons and cocktail parties. Dinners held in the underground wine cellar are also catered for, for up to 60 guests. The Estate can accommodate a maximum of 27 guests overnight.
