Looking down from Aster Palms you see the Berg River valley with the backdrop of the Drakenstein Mountains while upwards is Paarl Mountain. It is an excellent base to explore Paarl on foot if you wish to see the many interesting buildings along Main Street. It is also a convenient location for business people.

Some 2 km away is the Jan Phillips Mountain Road that traverses the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve. KWV the largest winery in the world is at a similar distance as is their Laborie vineyard and restaurant. Within 5 km there are many excellent vineyards with facilities for touring, combining this with food and wine.
