The sun rises like a tarnished looking-glass above the burnt red sand dunes and bare plains, the deadly glinting polyclada beetle, used by the Bushmen for their arrows, struggles like an orchestra with Beethoven, the explosion of yellow from the Devils Thorn flowers paints an appealing picture.

This is but a few of the unique pictures that can be found at The Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park, one of Africa's greatest parks. Take an ancient mystical journey into a different world and be touched by the spirit of reverence and spirituality, Kgalagadi is one of these destinations offering the mysticism of the African land. This wildlife haven comprises an area of over 3,6 million hectares which is one of the very few conservation areas of this enormity left in the world.

Situated on the South African side of the park, where the Great Nossob and Auob rivers join lies the largest rest camp and administrative base, Twee Rivieren.

Accommodation & Lodging at Twee Rivieren Rest Camp consists of 31 comfortable thatch-roofed, air-conditioned chalets, 31 campsites, a tasty A-la-carte restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner, a shop where essential and luxury commodities can be purchased and an information desk for your convenience. Picnic areas with ablution and barbecue facilities as well as a refreshing swimming pool that acts as an oasis for those sweltering hot days.

The name, Kgalagadi originates from the SAN language meaning "Place of thirst" Paltry vegetation, red sand dunes and the parched riverbeds of the Nossob and Auob exhibit antelope and predator species to a impressive advantage and afford outstanding photographic opportunities. The Park is also a sanctuary for birders, particularly those fascinated with birds of prey.

Both the Nossob and the Auob rivers flow South-easterly and join 6Km north of the largest rest camp and administrative base, Twee Rivieren, situated on the South African side of the Park.
