Grootkolk Wilderness Camp is located inside this Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park, is the authentic Grootkolk Wilderness Camp, where guests can be sheltered in extraordinary desert cabins made from sandbags and canvas, surrounded by the austere Kalahari landscape.

Situated about 100km North of Nossob restcamp and 30km south of Unions End. Electricity is provided by sunpanels hooked to some batteries. The electricity noramlly goes off at 23:00pm. Grootkolk doesn't have a shop or petrol station so make sure you fill up your car at Nossob before driving to Grootkolk and make sure you take some food with you.

The most NB think to remember when going to Grootkolk camp is to take plenty of drinking water with you. Water at Grootkolk is not suitable for human consumption so take plenty of bottled water with you.

Close by the Grootkolk Wilderness Camp is an animal oasis, a waterhole that attracts a variety of game and birds, becoming a brilliant feeding ground for Lions & Predators alike. Bird Lovers can also spend time overlooking the waterhole for that elusive rare species.

All accommodation at Grootkolk Wilderness Camp is equipped with cutlery, crockery and linen, there is gas for hot water and cooking and solar for lighting.

Grootkolk has 4 Desert Cabins, 2 single bed units cooled by ceiling fans

Lounge/dining room with fireplace. Communal kitchen and barbecue area with gas fridge / freezer and hotplate, Wc and shower, bathroom and kitchen on veranda.

One unit is accessible for visitors with mobility impairment , tourism assistant on duty.

Grootkolk Wilderness Camp offers great game viewing and 4x4 Trails.
