Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park rests in the great sand-filled basin in the west of the southern African subcontinent, recognized as the Magnificent Kalahari, at 3.8 million hectares, it is roughly twice the range of the Kruger National Park. Hidden away within the colossal Park, is the rustic Bitterpan Wilderness Camp only accessible by 4x4.
At Bitterpan Wilderness Camp, guests can rest in authentic reed cabins supported on wooden platforms surrounded by an extraordinary panorama across the sandbanks. The camp is built on stilts with wooden walkways adjoining the cabins making Bitterpan ideal for intimate groups of people who enjoy gathering around the campfire to revive their animal encounters of the day.
For the ardent game fanatics, Bitterpan Wilderness Camp offers a 6m lookout tower allowing exceptional views over the pan, waterhole and the dunes, where one can spend time looking for that elusive rare species. All accommodation at Bitterpan Wilderness Camp is serviced daily and supplied with bedding, towels and cooking and eating utensils, there is GAS for hot water and cooking and SOLAR for lighting.
Bitterpan has 4 Reed Cabins, 2 single bed units, communal kitchen and barbecue area with gas fridge / freezer. Separate bathroom with wc and shower. Suitable for the disabled.
