Ekogaia Farm Cottages

These charming Cape cottages are set in quiet, natural surroundings in a big private garden with sweeping views of the Noordhoek mountains and beach from the old centre of Noordhoek. They are located within a private estate.

We are ideally situated half way between the city and Cape Point so all amenities are close while you will still feel that you have escaped to a quiet country retreat when you return to your home from home.

We are graded three stars, self catering accommodation, by the national grading council.

Ekogaia Farm Cottages are both visitor and environmentally friendly. They have solar heating, low wattage CFL and LED lighting all wrapped in an eco-friendly design that takes advantage of natural attributes of the site.

Ekogaia Farm is a haven from the city while being close to all local amenities. You can wander down the road to have breakfast at a choice of wonderful restaurants, or visit the local pub in the evening and weave your way safely home afterwards.

The cottages are surrounded by an indigenous garden with ideal spots to braai or picnic al fresco beneath the trees when you want unwinding at your home from home.

The cottages are well appointed with all self-catering needs.

Both Spiral and Helix cottage have clock radio combinations, radiant bathroom heaters (for those winter chills!), hair dryer, bedside lights, a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, free proper filter coffee, tea and a seasonal fruit bowl on arrival. There is a smooth inside-outside flow to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings..

Our star beds have windows above the beds that enable you to be lulled to sleep under the African stars if you wish. The garden has a wide variety of wildlife from porcupine to mongoose while the many resident birds make this a real birders haven.

Spiral cottage can comfortably sleep six while the cosy Helix cottage sleeps up to five. Both cottages are double-volume with reed ceilings, echoing traditional Cape architecture. The attention to detail is evident everywhere in this stunning accommodation.

We look forward to welcoming you to your restful stay. Come and enjoy the city while staying in the country, a short and spectacular drive to town!

"We had a 2 night stay in Helix Cottage at EkoGaia Farm Cottages at the end of our 3 week trip to South Africa and just before catching the plane to go home. We were very pleased to have seen it recommended in the Rough Guide otherwise we would almost certainly have missed one of the highlights of our trip. It was really nice to meet with Glenn and Colette who were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We had the added bonus of watching their lovely daughters Mila and Aliya give us a cooking demonstration! The building (divided into 2 separate cottages) is located in its own grounds with views of mountains and ocean and 5 minutes walk to the Noordhoek Farm Village which contains a group of craft and food outlets and most importantly the Foodbarn restaurant. We had a very memorable last dinner in South Africa. Eating here is a must. Though rather expensive by South African standards the food was outstanding and the recommended wines were equally good. Glenn and Colette will no doubt insist that guests eat there. The cottage is really nice as well as being very unusual. The open stairs to the sleeping area make the room appear bigger and all is bright and airy. Everything one needs is provided and the atmosphere is very relaxing. Whilst having very easy access to Cape Town (we got Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in about 20 minutes) it is like staying deep in the countryside so for us the location was excellent. The start of the Chapman Peak Drive is a couple of minutes away and access to the southern Cape was very easy so we saw everything we wanted to see without the hassle of city traffic. The (provided) description of how to get to Ekogaia was really good so we arrived without any problems. We would like to have stayed longer and would certainly stay again if and when we visit Cape Town in the future. If you want to visit Cape Town but want a quiet and beautiful place to stay then Ekogaia could be for you. We would wholeheartedly recommend Ekogaia Farm Cottages. "
