De Noordhoek Hotel

Situated at the southern end of Chapman's Peak Drive, along the renowned Cape Point Route, De Noordhoek Boutique Hotel offers excellent value and comfort to leisure and corporate travelers alike. 20 Double or twin rooms, tastefully decorated in warm earthy tones, offering superbly comfortable beds fitted with crisp white linen and brightly coloured cushions. The walls are adorned with art by local artists, depicting local scenes and activities. All rooms feature an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, air-conditioning, hot beverage facilities, satellite TV, a high speed internet connection point and telephone service, hairdryer and laptop size electronic safe.

Of these 20 standard rooms, 4 rooms are fully accessible by wheelchair. These rooms have lower beds, lower mirrors, switches and cupboard fittings, as well as all necessary bathroom fittings and fixtures, including roll-in showers with shower-seats. These two sets of inter leading rooms make travel for individuals in wheelchairs or the elderly and their carers and/or families a comfortable experience. These rooms are arguably the best appointed accessible rooms in the Cape, and look out onto a beautiful indigenous courtyard garden, punctuated with lemon trees and a fountain.

8 Rooms allow for 4 interleading pairs, ideal for families or parties travelling together. In addition, De Noordhoek Boutique Hotel offers an intimate bar, a lounge with a roaring fire place for cozy atmosphere, a sunny breakfast room and 24 hour reception service. There is ample secure vehicle parking available for hotel residents, at no additional charge. Secure, lockable and undercover storage is available in the hotel basement for motor cycles, bicycles, trailers or a motor car or two, by prior arrangement - ideal for bicycle, motorcycle or classic car touring, and film crews.

De Noordhoek Boutique Hotel is the first hotel in Cape Town to employ solar heating for its hot water needs. Low energy lighting, water saving showers, separation of waste for recycling and general design efficiency all contribute to our responsible tourism ethic. The hotel garden, with the exception of four lemon trees, is indigenous and water wise. Dining tables have been manufactured utilizing recycled timber by a local entrepreneur, and personnel employed are all from households within a 10km radius of the hotel.

The hotel's unique location within the Noordhoek Farm Village, surrounded by the famous Table Mountain National Park (Silvermine and Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserves), Cape Point Vineyards, Chapman's Peak with magnificent views, the idyllic Noordhoek beach with ship wreck and an eight kilometer stretch of white sand, perfect for sunset walks or horse riding. Wetlands, the quaint village common and paddocks with grazing horses, and the convenience of Long Beach shopping Mall a mere 2 km away, make this beautiful hotel any traveler's dream choice. A variety of reputable and entertaining restaurants, specialty shops, art and craft galleries and a health & beauty salon complement the ambiance to be found within this enchanting farm village setting.

Kirstenbosch Gardens and Groot Constantia Wine Farm are also a short drive away, at approximately 20 - 30 minutes, whilst the Boulders Penguin Colony and Cape Point can also be reached after 20 to 30 minutes respectively, via scenic driving routes. Coastal towns worth visiting along the Cape Point Route include Hout Bay, Scarborough, Kommetjie, Simon's Town, Fish Hoek, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg, the furthest away at under 25 minutes drive from centrally situated Noordhoek. The magical Cape Point Route embraces diverse interests and unique activities including a beautiful, lapped by the ocean, railway between villages on the warm sun bathing and family swimming beaches of False Bay. From camel rides to township tours, sculptors, potters, weavers and painters to the Navy Museum, art collections, antique stores and die-cast model cars of the Toy Museum to the gem stone factory, beautiful village and nature walks, whale watching, sea kayaking, surfing, scuba diving, boat trips, fishing, shark cage diving, rock climbing and abseiling to romantic picnics or motorcycle and side car round trips, fantastic food and wine, pubs, restaurants, delis, coffee shops, farm kitchens, "catch of the day" wharfside fisherman's eateries - the Cape Peninsula's spectacular and dramatic rising from the charm of the ocean, and the friendly diverse peoples of the Cape Peninsula will warm you to this paradise and playground.

Drive Chapman's Peak Drive to Hout Bay for fantastic seafood and stunning views, saddle a horse to the beach with experienced instructors, hire a bicycle, walk the fynbos clad mountains, with spectacular vistas of both False Bay and the rugged cliffs rising out of the Atlantic Ocean, or just take the family for a meal and movie - delight in "Cape Country at the Beach"!
