With the rarely seen rear view of the famous Table Mountain, Pear Lane provides a Cape cottage, with a flourishing green garden in the heart of Newlands Village, at the end of a peaceful cul-de-sac.
On an historical note, the Dutch East India Company had regular visits to the Cape, and the cottage was once a part of the Governors farm where the freshest vegetables were grown for the visiting sailors’ supplies and nutrition.
A choice of double or single beds is available for two persons in this comfortable bed and breakfast. The cottage has sash windows overlooking the mountain and is bright with lots of space for extra comfort. The pool area is enclosed and is accessible through French doors opening out onto a private patio leading to the swimming pool. There is a fully equipped kitchenette and barbeque available.
Breakfast consists of fresh fruit, fruit juice and yoghurts, muesli, croissants/muffins & toast, choice of teas and coffee and is included in the bed & breakfast rates.
During the sporting season regular rugby, cricket and national club soccer teams play at Newlands’ sport stadiums which are within walking distance from Pear Lane, together with cafes, pubs, restaurants, boutiques and convenience shops eg. Woolworths food store, hairdresser, wine shop.
