Montagu Rose Guest House

The Montagu Rose Guest House was established as the first guest house in the town, in 1989. Your hosts are Dr Ben and Dr Deoni van Rensburg. Ben is a retired economist and well-known raconteur who can add value to the fact-finding part of your tour. The Montagu Rose Guest House is centrally situated in the picturesque Montagu village. This Victorian, double storey house was built in the early 1930’s. The mountains can be viewed in a wrap around fashion from the balcony or the huge expanse of windows. Montagu has many attractions and deserves at least a two-day visit.

Montagu is a town for nature lovers - the nature garden, the spectacular mountains, rock climbing, walking trails, hikes, the hot water springs, historical walks through town, sport facilities, 4x4 routes and much more. Despite the size of the village, amenities like shops, museums, art cellars, craft shops and excellent, gourmet restaurants are available. An adventurous tractor and trailer trip, to the summit of the Langeberg Mountains - an experience of breathtaking beauty and precipitous slopes, combined with a typical potjiekos farm lunch is on offer on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The town is renowned for the healing waters of its hot springs, bird life abound and the early nineteenth century architecture is something to experience.
