

Milnerton was founded in 1897 and named after the then High Commissioner for South Africa, Lord Alfred Milner, Milnerton rapidly grew into a prime holiday destination for residents of Cape Town and tourists. Milnerton is often seen as a general area including the following areas: Cambridge Estate, Century City, Milnerton Ridge, Sanddrift, Tygerhof, Woodbridge Island. These suburbs were all "add-ons" to Milnerton proper, which has clear boundary lines.
The old Milnerton Racecourse has been converted into a major housing development and has given rise to a new suburb of Milnerton, namely Royal Ascot, you have a range of leisure choices including golf (Milnerton Golf Course), bird watching (Rietvlei), surfing, kite and wind surfing at one of the best locations in the world (Milnerton beach).The Paddock’s shopping centre is within walking distance and offers great restaurants and up market shops.
