The inside facilities include two TV-lounges both equipped with good sound system and audio visual equipment. There are a wood burning fireplace and pizza oven. This enables your hosts to supply real Italian pizzas or true South African dishes from the open fire or the well equipped open plan kitchen while guests join in on the activities and the creation of these dishes. These occasions always turn out to be a festive celebration of good wine and food during the cold and wet Western Cape winters. The 8-seater dining room table, hand crafted from a 300 year old oak tree that used to grow where the Newlands Cricket Grounds are today, together with the rest of the furniture with as unique a history, forms a central part of such gatherings.
This bedroom is larger than the other and it also offers the luxury of a private small gymnasium. To ad to the space, the en suite bathroom is also "double in size with a bubble bath, twin shower and basin. There are French doors that open onto the veranda and the windows from the gym and bathroom look out onto the lush back garden.
The garden at Wine Route Inn is as much an extension of the inside of the house as the inside is an extension of the natural environment outside, with cosy private little corners and a small sanctuary for feathered friends of this rural suburban "little bushveld". At the back of the house the outside braai facility form part of the thatched veranda to the one side and the "bush pub" to the other.This whole entertainment area form one large unit that runs from the front door through the lounge/living area, dining room/kitchen, veranda with it's own rustic bar counter and the outside braai area with the deeper than normal splash pool to the bush pub with a gas fuelled spit braai/heater, pool table and under floor heating.
