The Skuinshuis Artists Cottage was built 100 years ago by farm workers in the typical Karoo labourers flat-roofed style along natural contour lines. Recently extended to include a new bedroom, bathroom and two outdoor seating areas, the vivacious cottage offers a delightful and cosy self-catering accommodation for two. A perfect base for exploring the spectacularly beautiful region by car, bicycle, plane or on foot. Or for writing that book or screenplay undisturbed...
The Artist’s Cottage has been vibrantly styled with a mix of some of the best contemporary South African craft and design, carefully restored vintage furniture and Sally Arnold‘s paintings. 10 percent of all income earned from the cottage supports the Skuinshuis Scholarship Fund, administered by the artist since 2000 in aid of various creative projects (e.g. art classes, beading project) for the youth of Prince Albert.
