Birdsnest Guest Accommodation is situated in the picturesque costal village of Hout Bay, an area surrounded by mountains, a long beach and an idyllic fishing harbour.

Hout Bay offers many restaurants, lots of interesting shops, an illustrious Sunday craft market, plenty of sports facilities and hiking trails. And let's not forget World of Birds, the largest bird park in Africa.

The Cape of Good Hope can be reached within an hour by driving over Chapman's Peak. Alternatively visit Cape Town city centre or the V & A Waterfront by taking a 30 minute scenic drive along the coastal road. Along the way you will see the cable car up Table Mountain, Cape Town's number one landmark. A different route along the woody slopes of the mountain takes you to Kirstenbosch, Cape Town's botanical garden which, apart from offering great day visits, enjoys open air concerts in the summer months.

Hout Bay is a good base from which to explore the wine regions like Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, being only an hour away by car.

You will find Birdsnest Guest Accommodation in a quiet cul de sac in the rural part of the Hout Bay Valley, with panoramic views over the bay, the surrounding mountains, the valley and the village. Set in a large garden with lush pool area, barbeque facilities, separate entrance and driveway and secure off street parking. We offer our guests a choice of:

Upper - Lower and Cottage Nest

• Three one bedroomed self catering flats that can sleep up to four people.
• Spacious open plan dining and living area with TV, CD and DVD.
• The double sleeper couch in the living area opens into a convenient double bed.
• Separate tastefully furnished bedroom with either double or two single beds.
• Fully equipped kitchenette.
• Modern fitted bathroom with shower.
• Stunning views from either terrace or balcony over the surrounding mountains and/or the bay.
• Garden/pool furniture and a Weber barbeque.

Africa Nest

• A two bedroomed self catering flat that can sleep up to six people.
• Same amenities as above.

Garden Nest

• A small but cozy cottage fitted with a double sleeper couch, table and chairs, TV and CD.
• A fully equipped kitchenette and bathroom with shower.
• A veranda overlooking the pool area.
• Ideal for low budget travelers.

Your hosts Elke & Erik are German and have been living in Hout Bay for over 30 years. They offer airport transfers and are more than willing to assist you in planning daily sightseeing tour or longer trips in the further surrounding of Cape Town, for instance Garden Route or some of the Game Park in South Africa. On request they take you as tour guide in their VW Carvelle on these excursions.
