Gordons Bay is a great bet if you are keen to visit South Africa on a budget and would like to stay in a coastal town. it is only an hour from Cape Town, and is situated about 10 kilos down the coast from Strand on the slopes of the Hottentots Holland Mountains. The village has quite a large variety of accommodation, from modest houses, to huge villas higher up on the slopes, which have panoramic views over False Bay and the surrounds.

Gordons Bay is known to be a very relaxed seaside town, with good beaches, a harbour waterfront development called Harbour Island, and a great place to come and relax on the beach. The white sandy Bikini Beach(Blue Flag) is known to be particularly well protected from the wind and ideal for swimming.Gordons Bay beach has a more intimate feel than its neibour, Strand.There are a string of restaurants, pubs and bars on the main beach road of Gordons Bay. It's a top place to watch the sunset while sipping a cocktail.
