Franschhoek valley is situated between towering mountains 80km from central Cape Town and is South Africa’s gourmet food and wine capital , Franschoek literally means 'The French Corner' ,many visitors opt to stay here for the sole purpose of indulging their wine cravings along with their taste buds. The Huguenots settled here three hundred years ago and planted vines along the fertile slopes of the Berg River mountain valley brining their French food and wine culture to the region.
