Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist has become a household name visiting Cape Town annually. His ability to get members of the audience to behave in strange and comical situations is guaranteed to have you rolling in the aisles.
This year Andre has invited fellow artist and one of the kind STEVIE STARR the Regurgitator from the UK to share the stage with him. THE HILARIOUS DOUBLE BILL opens at the Baxter Concert Hall on 23 August for a season until 9 September 2006. It is two hours of the most amazing entertainment you will ever witness.
As a youngster, Andre watched in awe a performer swallow a number eight billiard ball and regurgitate it clean and dry a few seconds later. This was followed by sugar and water, coins, a padlock and a Rubik cube. The man was no other than Stevie Starr the Regurgitator. Amazed at this mans talent, Andre set out to track him down. And thanks to his persistence and the willingness of Stevie Starrs management to bring him to South Africa, we will see both the unique mesmerizing skills of Andre and the unique mind-boggling talent of Stevie Starr in THE HILARIOUS DOUBLE BILL.
To say his show is a one of a kind is no lie, says Andre. Stevie Starr grew up in a childrens home in Glasgow where he discovered he could hide his pocket money by swallowing and regurgitating it when needed. He also tried out other things including a bumble bee and then bringing it back and letting it fly away.
He has become an international sensation, has appeared on many TV shows including Jay Leno more than ten times and Ripleys Believe it or Not. His name is also noted in the Guinness Book of World Records.
What makes Andres show so distinctive is the fact that no two performances are ever the same. Not only does he incorporate various new routines but plays on the fact that different volunteers illicit different reactions. Because of this his audiences return over and over again for more.
