ACCOMMODATION:
Downstairs comprises two bedrooms (one with a queen-sized bed, one with twin beds) both luxuriously en-suite, with an open plan kitchen, dining and living area with fireplace, leading via French doors to a large, sheltered verandah with built-in braai. Stairs from the dining area lead to the spacious loft with another sitting area and a queen-sized bed. The loft enjoys panoramic views and is perfect for star-gazing from bed

Aloe Cottage is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas stove, electric oven, microwave and a chef's array of pots, pans and appliances. The cottage includes a fireplace, heater, fans, books, games, a small fenced indigenous garden, and lots more for your relaxation. It also includes a television, DVD player and CD player, just in case... Either bring your own DStv satellite smartcard or use ours for a nominal fee.
ACTIVITIES:
Enjoy your days unwinding on the sheltered verandah, where the only sound is birdsong, have a braai (wood is provided), watch a show with Tannie Evita Bezuidenhout, see the weaver birds build their nests right outside the window, curl up with a book in the hammock, or just relax on the deep, comfy couches in front of the fireplace with some fine Darling wine.
The adjacent fields of the Oude Post farm occasionally offer a glimpse of the beautiful long horns and speckled hides of the Nguni cattle. The cottage is located in an indigenous renosterveld estate with beautiful walks and trails nearby. Two mountain bikes are included for your pleasure to explore the quaint village of Darling.
Other activities: wine tasting at nearby wine farms (Ormonde/Alexanderfontein, Cloof, Darling Cellars); Darling Morning Market (1st Saturday of the month); excellent country restaurants; art galleries and local crafts; Duckitt Orchid Nursery (1st Saturday of the month, May to Nov), Yzerfontein beach; spectacular wild flowers in spring, Voorkamerfest arts festival in September, golf at the 9-hole course, and Christmas in Winter at Evita se Perron (throughout July).
Darling is perfectly situated to explore the rustic West Coast and Swartland including wine farms, beaches, wildlife, birdwatching and nature.
