The tranquil dam in Clanwilliam is a water sport enthusiast’s haven where sailing, swimming, water-skiing and canoeing make for enjoyable leisure activity.

Climb into the smallest fissures and be instantly immersed in a world of sunbeams, silence and stone as you explore the intriguing caves and San / Khoi rock art sites particularly the Stadsaal Caves and Wolfberg Cracks. Rock-climb the enticing rock faces, fish in the rivers, mountain bike and horse ride and hike the fantastic network of trails leading to an enriching discovery of the Cederberg’s prolific wildlife and unique fynbos vegetation. Hiking permits for the trails are available at the Dwars and Krom River farms. Hot and arid in summer and very cold in winter with snow falls, it is advisable to dress appropriate for these conditions. After the winter rains the Cederberg region is showered in a profusion of mesmerizing spring flower carpets, truly an awesome sight to behold.
