A welcoming holiday home in Camps Bay with majestic views of Cape Towns Table Mountain, The Twelve Apostles Mountain and Camps Bay beach is an exceptional place to be. The good proportions of curved walls, windows and glass sliding doors create a seamless connection between the inside and out maximising and allowing one to see the phenomenal scenery from every room.
The entrance is the start of the innovative design that follows through to the rest of the house, curved and light tiled steps with a chrome railing, beige colour walls and little round spotlights above suit the character of the home. One could spend the morning visiting Cape Towns booming city centre with its art galleries, museums and social spots, the V & A Waterfront with its brand-name shops, African collectables and restaurants to suit every taste and budget, take the cable car up Table Mountain with a view over greater Cape Town, all just a five minute drive away, and still manage to walk down to the beach in the afternoon.
The curvaceous lines of the open plan tiled living area with separate and lowered oval ceilings with plenty little spotlights gives the homes furniture and older pieces a modern touch. The dining area, directly ahead of the entrance, has a dark wood and glass table with eight chairs and the living room has a glass top coffee table, two black leather sofas and a matching chair, a silver and glass finish television unit, a glass top serving table, a built in fireplace and glass sliding doors that lead out to the outdoor swimming pool area. A well-lit fully equipped kitchen has curved wooden cupboards with silver knobs and a large curved bar counter and a matching work island below, perfect for cooking and having friends over to share a meal. To the right of the kitchen is a laundry/scullery with large windows that face The Twelve Apostles Mountain.
The homes four bedrooms, down a curved passageway to the left of the kitchen, are unassuming yet personalised with simple décor so the furniture speaks for itself such as the neutral shades of the curved walls and the romantic linen with solid wood beds. Bedroom one has a double bed, plenty fitted beige and silver wardrobes, a television, an en suite bathroom and glass sliding doors that open up on to the swimming pool. The bathroom successfully combines a large oval bathtub and oval washbasin with a marble vanity area.
Bedroom two has twin beds with cream linen, fitted wardrobes, two wicker and wood tables and a large window to the front. Bedroom three has twin beds with white linen of embroidered squares, two wicker and wood tables, a wooden cabinet, a low counter top with cupboards beneath and windows that look out to sea. Bedrooms two and three share a bathroom that matches bedroom ones en suite with a shower and windows that overlook the sea. Bedroom four has a double bed with cream and beige embroidered linen, a television, beige fitted wardrobes and glass sliding doors that lead on to the swimming pool and garden facing Table Mountain to the right and the sea to the left. The appointed bathroom has a glass shower, a huge oval shaped bathtub with a window alongside it and his and her washbasins on a marble vanity area.
A perfectly manicured garden and well-structured modern, private outdoor area has a shaded patio where visitors can enjoy lunch on the wooden outdoor table and a large rim swimming pool with a wall fountain for cooling sounds whilst relaxing on a lounger with a good novel. The sea, the mountain and the palm trees create a beautiful collage throughout the year and beckons one to stay longer.
