Camps Bay Villa and Cottage Reviews

Best spot in Camps Bay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Stunning views of the mountain and the ocean greeted us every day, we could even see if the cable car was running! Princess, the house keeper is very friendly and helpful. Although we were 9 people it did not feel crowded at all. Ample facilities, space and a relaxed atmosphere made it into a wonderful stay. Thanks Ruth for making your holiday home available for others to enjoy.

Camps Bay Villa
Situated in the most desireable part of Camps Bay, the villa is spacious and beautifully furnished with an unusually large garden. It is very secure and provides easy access to the many attractions of the Cape. We have stayed in this villa several times and would strongly recommend it to anyone considering a stay in South Africa.

Perfect spot to watch the World Cup
Spent 10 days during the World Cup with a few friends and would thoroughly recommend this house. It was my first time to Camps Bay (or S.Africa in fact) and was taking a chance on the actual location but this house couldnt be in a better spot, 100m to the beach and action, but very peaceful, no noise at night. House was excellent with beautiful sea views. Hard to fault, the 4th bedroom in the main house was a little small but we didnt need it. The guest house in the garden was charming. House was well equipped, everything worked, plus a cleaner would come in every day and the place was always immaculate. Pool looked pleasant but weather too cold to use it. What else....prices everywhere in Camps Bay were sky high for the World cup but from what i saw this place was very good value given the size, not sure what normal off peak rates are though. Will book this place again if i ever return. Loved Camps Bay and Capetown, not too impressed with Durban.

Average
The location of the Villa was good, with amenities just a short walk away.

The property itself was in a secure neighbourhood, with its own adequate security system, albeit not all the security buttons worked on all the pads, which caused problems, amongst 4 people staying in the property.

Initially the WIFI and Satellite TV did not work, so calls had to be made to the owner, technician to try and rectify the problems. They then worked intermittently, and all was fixed 5 days into the stay at the property. For this type of property, these basic facilities should be ready and working on entry.

The size of the house was fine, with nice views. The heating system for winter, wasn’t very good, as the heaters didn’t provide much warmth. Perhaps the living room could have been better designed too, with a large LCD TV on the wall, particularly as the World Cup was on and it was a ``home from home’’.

The 3rd and 4th bedroom were not satisfactory. Both having single beds, with the smallest of duvet covets. The House maid advised that there was no other blankets or covers available too. The bedroom in the basement, was in a damp environment and I would describe it as a Box room or Utility room, not bedroom, quick conversion, so really this was a 3 bedroom house, with an adjacent Maids quarter, turned into guesthouse, for the World Cup.

Week in Camps Bay
Spent a fabulous week at Camps Bay Villa and Cottage with family from the UK. Plenty of room for all, a quick walk to the beach and Camps Bay strip.

Fabulous views, a bit noisy with building across the road, were out most of the day so were not to affected by the building noise.

We will be back.

Can't wait to go back!!!
This was our third visit to Cape Town, on both previous occasions we had stayed in the Strand Area, and because we were returning with friends this time we decided to try Camps Bay for all the reasons it tells you in the brochure, and we weren't disappointed.

The Villa was absolutley lovely, with plenty of room, as a party of five we never felt on top of one another as the accommodation was most spacious, the private garden and pool were lovely to have, although we never got to use them too much because of all the other lovely things to go and explore that Cape Town has to offer.

The Villa was completely equipped with everything you could possible need, every kitchen utensils etc, games, indoor and outdoor. The location of the Villa was also perfect because it was far enough off the main street, where it can get really busy, but near enough to easily walk to amenities.

If we had one criticism of the villa (which is so small) it would be for wall mirrors to be put in two of the bedrooms (for us girls) as drying your hair was difficult.

Would not hesitate to return, in fact wouldn't try anywhere else, because value for money was excellent
