At the traffic circle on the R62 on your way out of Robertson, continue straight towards Ashton. Drive through Ashton and turn right, just after the petrol garage on the far side, onto the R60 towards Swellendam. Travel 22km, passing the first two Bonnivale signs. At the third sign, which says Bonnievale / Drew, turn right and go 2km. There will be a very small church and a little house on your left. Turn left there and immediately right onto gravel (if you go through a drift you have gone too far). Drive 1,7km, passing the first farmhouse and some staff cottages. Matzikamma is then on your left - sign-posted. From Cape Town via the N1 Take the N1 to Worcester. Turn off to Robertson. At the traffic circle on the R62 on your way out of Robertson, turn right to Bonnievale. Drive straight through Bonnievale, passing Parmalat shop on your left. Go over the railway line and continue for approx. 15km to a tar T-junction / cross road (gravel). Go over the T onto the gravel and drive 1km (measure!). Turn sharp left (yellow reflector on a pole, also slippery when wet) If you go through a drift you have gone too far. Go 1km further. Matzikamma is then on your right - sign-posted. From Cape Town via the N2 Take the N2. Turn off left at Stormsvlei, 20km after Riviersonderend. Stay on that road for approx. 15km. Turn right at a signpost that says Gelukshoop / Drew. Drive to the end of the tar, approx 12km (if you go onto gravel you have gone too far). The road, still tar, then turns left and crosses the Breede River on a low-water bridge. Cross the river and the railway line. After about 2,5km turn right at the cross road onto the gravel (left goes to Bonnievale). There is a school on the right corner. Drive 1km (measure!). Turn sharp left (yellow reflector on a pole, also slippery when wet) and go 1km further. Matzikamma is then on your right - sign-posted. NB: If there is any danger that the river is in flood, go past the Gelukshoop / Drew turnoff and continue to Bonnievale - another 3km. Then at the T junction in Bonnievale turn right, passing Parmalat shop on your left. Go over the railway line and continue for approx. 15km to a tar T-junction / cross road (gravel). Go over the T onto the gravel and drive 1km (measure!). Turn sharp left (yellow reflector on a pole, also slippery when wet) and go 1km further. Matzikamma is then on your right - sign-posted. From the Garden Route If you are coming from the Garden Route on the N2, turn off at Swellendam onto the R60 towards Ashton. After about 22km you will see the Bonnievale / Drew sign. Turn left and go 2km. There will be a very small church and a little house on your left. Turn left there and immediately right onto gravel (if you go through a drift you have gone too far).
